This past weekend while on a family reunion in New Paltz, I had the opportunity of meeting two of my biggest fans, Jennifer of Surround Stereo and Abbie of Chronicles of a Bionic Woman.
This happened to be a chance encounter of two other CIers who I have known since last year when we all started blogging about our CI adventures. Jen who hails from Tennessee is bi-lateral but will be re-implanted on her left side on August 28th. And Abbie who is from Toms River, NJ is implanted on her left side and we’ve been persuading her to go “bi”. Abbie is also featured on the cover of Hearing Loss magazine and was gracious enough to autograph my copy! Jen is tentatively scheduled to be on the April 2009 issue when HLAA holds their national convention in Nashville, June 2009. She is also the newly elected President of the Nashville chapter. It was an absolutely awesome great 5 hours at the Woodbridge Mall with stories of the trials and tribulations of our journey as CIers.
Aren’t Jen and Abbie GREAT?!!! Jen told me she was going to see you and that it would be a surprise! When do I get to meet you? Glad you had fun!
Sam, it was absolutely awesome meeting you in person! You deserve a medal for all the auditory therapy we girls put you through with our talking ;)!!! Thanks for the great afternoon and the great company! 🙂
