The course winds through beautiful Como Lake Park in Lancaster. The conditions were less than optimal, breezy, chilly, with on and off showers. At least the post race party made it worthwhile to stick around till the awards were given out. A lot of my running friends and buddies are picking up quite a few pieces of hardware but for me, consistently lowering my times are more satisfying. I knocked off a good average 29 seconds per mile from last weeks’ race and 11 seconds from last years’ Griswold. Now if only I can shed hhhmmmmmmm….may 10 pounds. Tony and Darlene better watch out…the season is young and the best races are yet to come. Oh yea, there is also Ed and Ed.
With next week’s wedding of “Big” Mike K. and his lovely missus, Judy we will won’t be at the Buffalo Marathon. And then on Sunday, our very own Checkers Mile which I’ll be helping with; us Board members have to do something!!
So it looks like the next race won’t be until the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge on June 5th. This is one fabulous event where over 12,000 runners are expected and I’ll be running for my company, WILLCARE.
Until then, I’ll be shuffling my feet, building up the miles, wearing out the soles and continuing my quest to see who has the most guts!
Sam,Yes its great to see you run and our Mike too!! Its hard to hold back, but yes the season is young and looking forward to the best races. Did you say shed hhhmmmmm 10 pounds? or did you say ate 10 pounds of Chience food at the Chience buffet last night? watch out my man!! Love, Steph π
Sam,Yes its great to see you run and our Mike too!! Its hard to hold back, but yes the season is young and looking forward to the best races. Did you say shed hhhmmmmm 10 pounds? or did you say, I ate 10 pounds of Chinese food at the Chinese buffet last night with Dan our little man, watch out my man!! Love, Steph π
If only Sam would listen to some good advise and drop at least 15 pounds. It is not easy but it would do him a world of good, not just for his running but for his overall health~ He says he’s a big guy-RIGHT-you are- but big guys need to loose weight too!!
I feel like I have to bug him till he kicks me in the butt and tells me to go away!
I KNOW, somewhow I KNOW that Sam needs to take off those pounds. Had he listened to me 3 months ago, they would have been gone and he would have been running around like a teenager in love! ha ha
Now I have to threaten him with me catching him one of these days (soon) in a 5k! If he looses his weight and eats the right foods he will become stronger physically and mentally and his footsteps may stay ahead of me. If not, mine may just pass him by and I hate to see grown men cry!
Its all up to Sam.
Love you Man!
ROFLing at Steph’s comment! We had Chinese buffet for lunch today…derails my healthy eating effort every single time!! I need to stay away from those places!!!
Sam is on the right track tonight! He ate an awesome meal I made for him, Garlic Shrimp & pasta with fresh spinach, only one portion! He is as strong as can be, and always does the right thing for Sam and oh me! Looking forward to seeing him run, as I pass him and Diane!!, I hate to see a grown man and women cry too! π
Sam, listen to “mom”… remember, about a year ago she was telling me to cut my hair.
Nice numbers on the race. Keep busting the envelope Sam! I am a fan! Hey buddy 2 things…1) I can’t afford “Fourbucks” coffee, Tim’s is $1.25, FOurbucks is well….$4.
2)Jays seem ahead of your Yanks! Whats up with that?
