Good morning world! For those of you who subscribe to Welcome to Sam Spritzer’s Web Site, I want to let you know that I am alive and well after a long hiatus. And then last week, a revelation occurred and it suddenly dawned on me that I need to make a return. So by the grace of God and a few others, I have proclaimed myself back once again. I am pretty sure I am going to hear it from my mother once again but after all, isn’t that what moms are for? Over the last few months, I had been grappling with some personal issues. As painful as they were/are, I have come to learn that we really shouldn’t take life for granted. It isn’t handled to us on a silver platter…not by any stretch of the imagination. It is what it is and if anyone has a cow over that, well I am sorry…I am human too. Over the next coming months, every effort will be made to make a presence here. For those of my faithful fans, I apologize and I thank you at the same time. Firstly, I have been honored with an invitation to become a mentor at the Bionic Ear Association. At the end of March, I will be attending a training weekend in California and will be meeting other mentors, some of whom I have known ever since I was a candidate. I currently have two prospective candidates under my wing and with the guidance of my wonderful manager Katie,
I am helping them along the way in the journey. I thought maybe I would share some of the questions and concerns with you so over the coming months, I hope to focus my posts on my mentoring efforts, trials and tribulations. Secondly, my running has taken a somewhat backseat. The personal issues had left me with little desire to enjoy something I had immensely. When life comes at you a full 360 degrees, all of a sudden these things become secondary. And no, I didn’t go back to the pack a day habit and put on 30 pounds. But there were others things that took the place for comfort. Those are now gone. I am slowly getting back up to speed being careful not to overdo it and risk injury (and avoid any snic comments from Di). I did attempt the Y10, a 10 mile race, two weeks ago. Big mistake! When I am ready…you’ll know it! And lastly, I will be making some changes to the web site. I am not sure exactly what they will be but I do know that I am running out of space and the software I am using is a few versions behind. So……check back and check back often….as I am here to stay! 🙂
Missed you, Sam, and very glad to ‘see’ you again.
