Friday night, we did the St. Greg’s The Great Great Race and that is not a typo! Here are our lines…

It surely was a great race and my time tied my second best time which was set at the same race, last year. And Steph was a merely 6 seconds from her PR. A lot credit has to be given to my new-found method of commuting (Click here for that story) and to fellow runners and good friends, Tony and Diane. If you get a chance, head over to the Checkers website for pictures of this race and the fabulous post race party that followed.
Yesterday, my right side processor died. I tried everything…fresh battery, new headpiece, new t-mic. Good thing I have a backup. My next mapping is August 1st. I emailed Michelle at Buffalo Hearing and Speech to find out what to do next. You know, I wear my CIs even when my hair is sopping wet with sweat from running. I’ll be curious to find out if that is what caused the failure.
Last week I biked to work 3 times. Going down in the morning isn’t too bad since the traffic is light but coming home can be a challenge. I haven’t had any close calls, knock on wood, but I’ve heard some pretty horror stories. I’ve already dropped off 2 pairs of shoes at work so I won’t look as bad as the picture in a previous post.
And lastly, my sister Ellen is moving back to the states, from Greece in August. She bought a beautiful 1930s Dutch Colonial in New Paltz, NY.
Sam, as you might know I have started training (running) again. The first 3 runs I had so much sweat, that my processor died.
Each time I had to put in Siemens stay dri jar for 20 minutes.
All was ok after
Great times by the way
Oh boy, sam! Have you heard back from your audi? There is this cool tool that is called Dri and Store that eliminates all of that humidty. It totally gets thumbs up for me. 🙂
Debbie..I do wear them when I am running but not racing since they will fall off. I put them on after a race even while I am still drenched in sweat. I am not sure if this is why the right side processor failed but I am curious to find out when it gets sent back.
I’m curious to know if you were your CIs while running?
Just found out that Steve doesn’t which was my big surprise.
He says that he doesn’t want to take a chance from all those sweating.
