Tonight, I am heading down to the “Y” to pick up my race packet for Thursday’s 111th Delaware YMCA Turkey Trot. This race is the oldest continually running footrace in North America (even older than the Boston Marathon)! So far, this race has surpassed the record number of entries set last year. Over 7,500 runners are expected to line up for the 9:00AM start time. The race is 8K which is 4.97 miles and runs south on Delaware Ave and loops past City Hall to the Buffalo Convention Center.
I think realistically I’ll be crossing the finish line somewhere between 36 and 38 minutes. That will be a conservative pace at roughly 7 1/2 minutes per mile. So…..come on down and cheer me on!
