With activation of my left ear six days away, I am really excited and looking forward to it. Right now, I am struggling with a stubborn camcorder I haven’t used in like 3 years. Apparently, there is a tape stuck inside…or rather, maybe it decided to become part of the inside. Plan “B” is ready to go if I can’t get the tape out…borrow son Mike’s friend Christian’s camcorder. Meanwhile, as much as I am anxious to go “stereo”, I really wonder what it’s going to be like for the brain to manage double the load and what it’s like to hear again through what I considered my better ear. Although I am not going to get my hopes up high, I do hope to have improved speech comprehension and discrimination. Meanwhile, other newsworthy items…
Today, I decided to forgo the Lockport Y10 race. So to all of my female groupie fans, sorry…no pictures today. Instead, me, Steph and the boys headed downtown to check out the Buffalo Auto Show. And among the Acuras, Lexuses, BMWs, Chevys, Chryslers, Toyotas……and a thousand other spiffy looking cars (and broads), none stood out like the Honda Accord in Polished Metal Metallic. I was literally ready to drive off with it but it didn’t have the moonroof or leather seats, a very important “Steph-satisfaction” requirement. And I was impressed with the Civic while Mike had his eyes on the Subaru Legacy. And Dan – his favorite car was the IDontKnow.
From the running world, my next PLANNED race is the Dash for the Dome. The weather may be typical Buffalo but the post race party is a sight to be seen! Last year I did the race in 24:18; think I can beat that?
Now, for those of you who saw my Super Bowl prediction of a Giant 31-17 victory…I may not have gotten the score right but TOM BRADY, EAT YOUR HEART OUT! The Giants rule the world and the Patriots are now the worse 18-1 team ever. Right, Dave?
So me hearties….stay safe, keep warm and don’t let the bedbugs bite you…until next time….hasta la vista!
