Back to normal

Yesterday I had my post-op checkup. Since I was the first appointment of the day, Dr. Diaz-Ordaz decided to play nurse and escort me to the examining room. He then took one look at me and asked me if I had any questions. Well, I did ask him how this one went comparing to the first one, a year ago. His response? “I don’t remember” THAT…is how many CI surgeries he does and he is the only one in Western NY that does them. You know…sitting in front of a microscope for at least two hours, poking, drilling and snaking a plastic spaghetti-like array though one’s ear repetitively…you really have to wonder how the man does it. Not to mention leaving the site of the incision as such, you’ll think a plastic surgeon was there.

So, my next appointment is February 15th when I am activated. I am really looking forward to that! Oh…and yes, he did clear me to go back to running soooo weather permitting, my first race is Sunday – the 14th annual Penguin Run for the benefit of the Cradle Beach Camp.

Glad to hear such a good report and that you are up and “running” again! Can’t wait until you get activated!
