Ok, its the weekend before my surgery. Nothing special planned other than a typical weekend. Errands, errands, errands…go to gym, pick up glass frames, drop Dan off at Mikes, the Checkers Christmas party tonight at President and First Lady Roll’s house just to name a few.
Anyway, did I mention that I am going to be implanted in my right ear which is my least favorite? Two reasons for this. Firstly, if anything goes wrong, I still have my “comfortable” hearing which is my left ear and secondly, there is suppose to be some benefit to wearing both an implant and a hearing aid especially in the beginning where the hearing aid will help distinguish some of the sounds. I do expect to wean off the hearing aid over a period of time. And then, depending on my insurance coverage, there is a possibility of doing an implant in my left ear, a year or two down the road.
Oh yea, I forgot…the first race for 2007 – the 13th annual Cradle Beach Penguin Run at Classics V Banquet Center on Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst NY. It will be more of a fun run for me since I will be out of commission for a week and I am still suffering from the after-effects of the holiday season.
