Thank you Deafread!

See my post Injustice to a Hearing Impaired Blogger

As a result, Deadread didn’t remove my blog. They merely “moved it” to the Inactive Blogs section. According to the heading of that section,

    Inactive Blogs (231)
Those blogs are marked as “inactive” because they have not written anything in a few months. Blogs either “die” or go on haitus. If you have written something to your blog and wish to re-activate it, it’s as easy as e-mailing us!

Inactive??? Lets see…10 posts in May, 6 in April, 18 in March, 16 in February…you call that inactive? And I can assure you this blog is not going to “die” or go on haitus.

I asked to be removed not inactivated…REMOVED. I do not want to be associated with a website that practices censorship without due process. And what is worse, this Tayler Mayer dude aka shatforbrains (my mother wouldn’t approve of the other word), banned Rachel’s blog, Cochlear Implant Online, because it was what he calls a marketing tool. He claims that the Cochlear Awareness Network (CAN) for which Rachel volunteers is a marketing tool of Cochlear Americas.

Unfortunately, shatforbrains and his stooges are so totally clueless because there are many blogs in Deadread that are owned by members and volunteers of Hearing Journey, a website that is sponsored by Advanced Bionics. And these blogs having postings that are far more pro-AB than any of the posts in Rachel’s blog. Yet they are still on Deadread. If that isn’t double standard, I don’t know what it is…so help me God!

Fortunately for me, I don’t have to worry anymore…and this concludes the first topic of ire in Talk is Cheap.

I’m adding you to my Google Reader. I didn’t realize you had left in all this mess. I’m really so very upset about this. I feel like my little list of favorite bloggers are being torn apart.

You’re off the list entirely now :(. You’re still in my reader, though, and I’ll definitely be back. I’m not going to hang around DR much longer…somethin’ stinks over there. Why don’t you start us an aggregator yourself?

Sam, what happened to a sports blog?
    Gotta be less controversial.

Sam, I respect you and your opinions, but calling Tayler a bad name is beneath you. I strongly agree with you here that removing CI Online was the wrong thing to do, but Tayler is neither all good nor all bad. He’s done some good things for the deaf blogosphere, so let’s be adults here and knock off the potty-mouth language, OK? Just in case you wondered, this isn’t your mother here. πŸ™‚
