Week 2, Day 3 – “Very cold this morning”

Those were the words out of one of my co-workers mouth this morning. Although I was looking at him, I wasn’t really concentrating to the extent that I was going to have a conversation with him. Its like…out of the blue, that is what he said. This is like yesterday when I heard another co-worker say “I put your name…”. I am beginning to believe that I am truly hearing and it’s not ESP.

Anyway, I am now listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan. I am using program #3 which is designed for a conference room and noisy situations. I really need to find out more about these different programs so that I can better describe them to my faithful readers. I can tell you they are rather broad since the emphasize for now is to find a comfortable volume level with as much highs as possible. Highs are what makes a conversation understandable. One thing I do notice about #3 is music is more clearer and it doesn’t cause the eye twitching I am getting with #2. I think tomorrow, I’ll try that setting at work.

I also tried to use the phone to tell my mom a Happy Valentine’s Day. Interesting how I was able to hear her loud and clear unlike with the hearing aid which was barely a whisper. Even though I heard her voice, I couldn’t understand what she was saying. I would have been shocked if I did.

I am pooped out now. Between last night, we got over a foot of snow so I was up at 5AM snow-blowing the driveway so that Steph could get out of the driveway and try her new awesome Dunlops. Geez, they’re only tires but surprisingly, they seem to hold up well in the snow!!!

Tomorrow is another day….and Michelle’s Extreme Ride Spinning class. And hopefully, the roads will be cleared in time for Saturday’s Buffalo Botanical Gardens Dash for the Dome.

Best Wishes on the race. Sometimes I wish I could still do
them……but the knees say no, so I do abs, Extreme Ride
and Body Pump, then go home and maybe watch a BB game

Is there a special setting for the phone? I know that with my hearing aid, I have to switch it to telecoil for the phone, then I have to find the “just right” angle to hold the phone to my ear to get good reception through the telecoil. Is it the same with your CI?

Karen…I didn’t even try that. I just listened as it is without setting any switches. That will be the next visit to the audiologist. I think it will be one of the programs.
